Luiz Ferreira begins working alongside his father, David Ferreira.
Luiz Ferreira marries Dona Maria Madalena da Costa Coutinho at Porto Cathedral, herself the daughter of the goldsmith Casimiro Coutinho.
Following the passing of his father, Luiz Ferreira establishes his own company: David Ferreira, Successor & Company.
It is in this shop on Rua das Flores that the artist gives wings to his creativity.
The “Antique” store is opened in partnership with Bernardo Lencastre, António Espírito Santo Silva, and Dr. João Sobral Mendes.
As his artistic identity grew more distinctive, he began adding his own hallmark, “LF”, alongside the “David Ferreira, Suc.” stamp.
Luiz Ferreira transfers ownership of the company on Rua das Flores to Custódio Pereira.
He then establishes the store at Rua Trindade Coelho no. 9, Porto. An establishment that remains open to this day.
He establishes the company “Luiz Ferreira & Filho, Lda.”, bringing his eight children into the business as well.
Opening of the second store at the Ipanema Park Hotel, in Porto.
On May 15, Luiz Ferreira passes away.
On July 19, the Portuguese State posthumously honours Luiz Ferreira with the Medal of Cultural Merit.
